Pulpit Aflame

Pulpit Aflame

Why would anyone name their website “Pulpit Aflame”? Does that mean we set fire to the wooden thing we stand behind while we preach? No. What we mean by “Pulpit Aflame” is that the ministers of God are to be set on fire of God’s Spirit as they preach and serve the Lord. Psalm 104:4 says, “Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flaming fire:” The thought is that we are to serve the Lord with fire and passion. When asked why the crowds came to hear him preach John Wesley replied, “When I preach, I set myself on fire and people come from miles around to watch me burn!” The Bible says about John the Baptist in John 5:35 “He was a burning and a shining light: . . .”
Dr. Doug Brandenburg is an old time preacher of the gospel of Jesus Christ and serves as the Senior Pastor of Antioch Baptist Church in Warren, Michigan. He has over 30 years of experience in many different facets of the ministry. His passion has been to serve God with his whole heart and to help others learn to love and serve the Lord the same way.
Too many believers are content with a casual Christianity. Brother Brandenburg longs to see another generation of believers who serve God with a reckless abandon.
Howdy, Howdy!
