UPDATE on Rhonda Brandenburg  10-05-2019

Rhonda gets a visit from family!

Rhonda gets a visit from family!

The last couple of days have been a little bit of a blur! Rhonda out of ICU and in the step-down unit. The infections are down to one infection (there had been three) and it is under control. The swelling is down in her legs as well. They have started to do some physical therapy to get her moving. She sat up on the edge of the bed during the last two days. She has more range of motion in her legs than she has had in years!

She is getting stronger every day and her spirits are good. Of course, having visits from our kids and grandkids help with that! We are so thankful for your prayers. Pastor Berlin, and the people of Faith Baptist Church have been a tremendous blessing.

God has been so good to have arranged my preaching schedule where I was in the area during this trying time. I had been in the Upper Peninsula preaching and arrived home 12 hours before she had to be taken to the hospital by ambulance. Had I not been home that day it would have been hours, maybe the next day before anyone would have seen her. I am so glad God is in control of the schedule! I have been able to be at the hospital when I needed to be and still able to preach in a couple of churches close by. It is a blessing to be able to be with Rhonda when she needs me. The challenge of being here for Rhonda means I am not traveling to preach is that it creates financial difficulties. God has been good and has supplied some extra finances from unexpected sources and gifts from a few churches and friends. This journey of faith is one that we never master. Romans 1:17 “For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.” We are so thankful for those that have helped. We are grateful for your kindness and generosity.

Please continue to pray for Rhonda’s healing and recovery.  We are asking the Lord to give her strength, allow her to transition from the bed to a chair, and to be able to start walking. We look forward to seeing her in a rehab hospital and then at home and back to functioning normally. Pray also for God’s provision.
