Update on Rhonda, Tuesday, November 12

Here we go on the new journey…

Great news! After seven weeks in the hospital, with several life-threatening episodes, Rhonda has FINALLY left the hospital. This afternoon she was transported to the Regency at Shelby Township Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center where she will beginning her physical rehabilitation. Of course, in the Brandenburg tradition, she was moved on the coldest November 12 on record in Michigan. After 8.5” of snow yesterday, the temperature dropped to the teens. That made for a fun ambulance ride! This has been a very long journey, and we still have a very long way to go.

Nurses at Beaumont Hospital saying goodbye to Rhonda

The staff at Royal Oak Beaumont Hospital has been incredible. It has been amazing to see how God put the right staff (doctors, nurses, aids, and technicians), in the right place, at the right time to treat Rhonda. For the last two days the staff came by to say goodbye and Rhonda received hugs from many of the nurses. She had such a testimony with all of them.

Please pray for Rhonda as she makes the transition to the new facility and the activities. She needs to gain the strength and mobility to sit up, stand, and walk. Pray for wisdom for the staff to plan the program of recovery and for strength and grace for Rhonda as she works to regain these lost abilities. She has made so much improvement already! We will give updates as she progresses.

Thank you so much for your prayers and your encouragement. Rhonda does have her phone and her iPad, so she can see comments to the posts on Facebook and you are able to direct message her.

God is always good. He is only good.
