Journey Through the New Testament

Our new Thomas Nelson KJV Bibles from the Premium Collection and our new Devotional Guides

Our new Thomas Nelson KJV Bibles from the Premium Collection and our new Devotional Guides

Today is January 1, 2020. It is a new year and a new decade. 2019 was a year full of unexpected twists and turns, many things happened that we did not expect. As most of you know, Rhonda has had many major health issues during the last year and it is a miracle that she is still alive. We are so thankful to have her back home and improving. I will discuss our year 2019, along with Rhonda’s health issues in another blog post.

Rhonda and I have decided to start the new year reading from new copies of the King James Bible and a new 90 Day Devotional Guide. It has been my practice for many years to purchase a new Bible every year or two to use as my reading Bible. I prefer a Bible with no footnotes or commentary, so that I will not be distracted by an editors thoughts. I just want the Bible. I will make notes and mark verses in this new Bible as God speaks to me in my reading and studying. After reading through that copy of the Bible for a year or two it become a study and preaching Bible. This year I chose the Thomas Nelson KJV Giant Print Center-Column Reference Bible from their Premier Collection. These are bound in premium goatskin leather and typeset in the KJV Comfort Print Typeface, which is 12 point typeface. (My eyes are not getting younger and for some reason the type on my other Bibles seem to have shrunken!) I purchased one for myself and one for Rhonda. We are excited to begin using these new copies of the King James Bible.

Our devotional guide is the “Journey Through the New Testament” 90-day devotional guide by Pastor Tim Christoson and published by Striving Together Publications. We are looking forward to reading through the New Testament in the next 90 days and discussing the many truths contained in the New Testament.

I am so thankful that we will be able to continue our journey of life together. We are also excited to begin another year studying the Bible and serving the Lord together. What are your plans for reading and studying the Scriptures this year? Do you have anyone with you on your journey? With whom are you serving the Lord?
